Well, Episode 4 rolled around, and it’s pretty clear the plot is completely running on autopilot at this point. We are once again stuck in the exact same repetitive loop: an elf gets kidnapped, Arc and Ariane jump in to save the day, they beat up the bad guys, and justice is served. It’s the definition of a generic fantasy trope, and if you’re looking for high-stakes storytelling or deep world-building, this season is definitely not delivering on that front. That being said, I have to admit what's keeping me tuned in—the fan service. Since the overarching narrative is playing it super safe and predictable, at least the show knows how to lean into its visual appeal. The animators are definitely delivering on the character designs and continuous eye candy, which keeps things entertaining enough to pass the time. If it weren't for Arc’s chill presence and the solid fan service carrying the episodes, this repetitive plot would have made me drop it already. It’s basically turned into a turn-your-brain-off comfort show. I’m not expecting any mind-blowing plot twists anymore, but as long as it stays fun to look at, I’ll probably keep watching.
