Re:ANIME

Level System

Everything you do on the site earns XP. XP raises your level, your level sets your rank colour, and your rank follows your name everywhere you post.

The short version

There are 80 levels. Reaching the cap takes 916,400 XP, and roughly a month of maxed-out days at the absolute fastest.

XP is lifetime earned. It only ever goes up. Downvotes can bruise your aura score, but nothing takes a level away from you once you have it.

How you earn it

Watch an episode

Counts once you reach the last 20% and at least half the episode has actually played, solo or in a Watch2Gether room. Once per episode ever.

+1,000

Full value for the first 8 each day, then 200 apiece up to 40. Past 40 an episode earns nothing.

Show up daily

Your streak ticks on the first episode you watch each day.

+2,000 → 5,000

Grows by 500 per consecutive day, up to 5,000 at a 7 day streak.

Finish a series

Moving an anime to Completed. You have to have actually watched it.

+5,000

Up to 2 a day, once per anime ever.

Comment, post or rate

Comments need about 20 characters to count.

+500

Up to 2,000 a day across everything social. Comments on community posts pay 100 each, so 20 of them count.

When the caps reset

Every daily cap rolls over at 00:00 UTC, not at midnight in your timezone. Your streak ticks on the same clock, so the safest habit is to watch something before the day flips where you are.

Right now that is 08:02 UTC, so the caps reset in 15h 57m.

A normal day, added up

First episode of the day (streak tick at max) +6,000
7 more episodes, full value +7,000
2 more episodes, past the daily 8 +400
1 series finished +5,000
20 comments on community posts (social cap reached) +2,000
Total 20,400 XP

Watching is worth more than talking: one episode pays double what a comment does, and ten times a comment on a community post. A day with every cap hit tops out at 31,400 XP, and only with a maxed streak. Missing a day costs more than any single session earns.

The ladder

Every tier gives your name its own colour and motion. It shows on your profile, in comments and on the leaderboard.

The streak is the point

Your streak ticks on the first episode you watch each day, and grows by 500 XP per consecutive day up to 5,000. It is the cheapest XP in the game and the only thing that rewards you purely for coming back.

Miss one day and it resets to the base. On your profile card the STREAK axis collapses to zero with it, so a long streak is the hardest thing on the card to fake and the easiest to lose.

Your profile card

Five stats scored against everyone else over a rolling 90 days. It is a season report, not a lifetime total, so it moves when you do.

GRIND Total hours watched in the window.
BINGE Your three biggest single days, averaged.
STREAK Your live daily streak. 1 day is 1 point, 100 days is a perfect score.
YAPPER Comments that actually said something. One word replies pull this below zero.
SUPPORT Likes and upvotes you gave to other people.

Scores are percentiles, so 50 is genuinely average and the top spot on each axis is held by exactly one person per season. You can claim a numbered collectible version of the card from your profile once you want one.

What does not work

  • Skipping to the end of an episode. At least half of it has to actually play.
  • Marking things Completed without watching them. The bonus needs watch history behind it.
  • Rewatching for XP. Each episode and each series pays once, ever.
  • One word comments. They post fine, earn nothing, and drag your YAPPER stat below zero.
